The EnviroMonitor Gateway (DI-6803) collects information from up to 32 Nodes, each of which can carry up to four sensors. The Nodes transmit their sensor data to a mesh parent – either the Gateway or another Node – and the Cellular Gateway then uploads the data securely to the Cloud over cellular connectivity, where it can be accessed on your smart devices and computers.

The Gateway is a self-contained, weather-resistant, solar-powered unit. It includes a rechargeable 6-volt backup battery and comes with mounting hardware. It requires an annual service plan and a one-time activation fee.

Building an EnviroMonitor system is simple:

  1. Add EnviroMonitor Nodes.
  2. Choose a wireless or cabled Vantage Pro2 weather station sensor suite.
  3. Choose additional sensors to build your custom sensor network to monitor, measure and manage the field data that matters to you (also compatible with a growing range of third-party sensors – talk to us for details).

The 6803 replaces the 6801 and 6622SOV, which have been discontinued.

How does the Davis EnviroMonitor Gateway work?

First, decide where and what type of data you want to collect – how many sensors you need and where they should be placed. Once your system arrives, install the EnviroMonitor app on your smartphone. You can find it in the Google Play Store or the iOS App Store. The app guides you through setting up the system and connecting it to WeatherLink.com, as well as connecting the Nodes to the Gateway and installing your sensors on the Node.

The instructions walk you through everything from confirming your cellular signal strength at intended node sites to finding the optimal locations for placing your Nodes. You also receive a user manual with diagrams and easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions. The manual is also available to download here.

How can I access the data from my EnviroMonitor Gateway?

You can access your data in several ways: via WeatherLink.com on your phone, tablet or computer; through the WeatherLink mobile app from anywhere you have a mobile signal; and through the Mobilize app, which is geared towards agricultural operations and crop management.

Where can I use my Davis EnviroMonitor Gateway?

One of the best features of this system is that you can use it almost anywhere there is a cellular connection – you don’t need to house it in a building or be near a power outlet. The Gateway comes with a 5-watt solar panel that provides ample power for long-term operation, plus a 6-volt rechargeable battery for backup, and it is housed in a self-contained, weather-resistant shelter that protects the electronics. If conditions become unfavourable, you can have the system email you an alert.
