HOBO Data Loggers & Weather Stations

Filter

Award-winning, USA-made Onset HOBO data logging weather stations are widely recognised as the industry standard for environmental monitoring. They are known for accurate, reliable data and are designed around simplicity, fast deployment and affordability — which is why they appear in university research, ecological surveys, building performance studies, water monitoring and agricultural trials worldwide.

We are the exclusive distributor for Onset in the UK and Ireland, so we can supply, configure and support the full range, including sensors and software, without an import wait.

Which HOBO station or logger do you need?

The decision comes down to how you want to get the data. If you want readings delivered automatically to the cloud over the mobile network, choose a cellular station. If you are happy to visit the site and download, a USB logger is cheaper and simpler.

Cellular stations — data without site visits

The RX3000 Remote Monitoring Station is the flagship: mains, solar or battery powered, up to 10 smart sensor channels plus analogue inputs, with readings uploaded on a schedule you set. Complete kits are available at three levels — Basic, Intermediate and Advanced. For smaller deployments the MicroRX station and the solar-powered RX2102 do the same job in a compact housing, and for water level work there is the RX2100-WL water level station and the RX2104. Cellular stations need a data plan: RX-Basic for up to 10 measurements, RX-Standard for up to 25, or RX-Premium for the device maximum.

    USB and Bluetooth loggers

The U30 Weather Station starter kit is the rugged, expandable classic, with 15-channel weather monitoring and energy and weather versions. The H21 USB Micro Station is the compact four-channel option for short campaigns, and the EnviroTrack weather station and logger is a straightforward USB alternative. For Bluetooth MX loggers read locally from a phone, an MX Gateway turns them into a remote-reporting network, with single and multiple cloud data plans.

Smart sensors — plug in and go

HOBO smart sensors are self-identifying: plug one in and the logger recognises it, sets the units and starts recording, with no wiring or configuration. We stock temperature and relative humidity sensors with 2m and 8m cables, wind speed and wind direction, the combined S-WSET-B wind set, barometric pressure, rainfall, leaf wetness and solar radiation. Davis sensors also integrate: the Davis wind speed and direction smart sensor and the Davis 0.2mm AeroCone rain gauge smart sensor.

    Mounting and power

A logger is only as good as its installation. We supply the 2-metre tripod kit and 3-metre tripod kit, the full cross arm for mounting multiple sensors, the essential RS3-B solar radiation shield for honest temperature readings, a light sensor bracket, and solar panels in 3W, 5W, 6W and 15W for unattended sites.

    Software and the cloud

Cellular and gateway devices report to the LI-COR Cloud IoT platform (formerly HOBOlink) for dashboards, alarms and scheduled exports. For USB loggers, HOBOware Pro handles setup, download and analysis and is available as a download, on USB drive or on CD, for Windows and Mac.

    Other professional options

HOBO is the choice when the data has to stand up to scrutiny and the sensor list has to be flexible. For agronomic decision support, see Spectrum WatchDog. For rugged unattended industrial sites, see RainWise. For a serviceable, expandable station at lower cost, see Davis. Everything is compared in commercial weather stations and data loggers.
