ACCUR8 is our own brand. We specify it, hold every part in stock and support it ourselves from West Sussex — including sensors for models we stopped selling years ago.

The range runs from the solar-powered WiFi stations — the DWS5100 5-in-1 and the DWS7100 7-in-1, which adds UV index and light intensity — to MSF radio-controlled forecast stations, large-display digital clocks, CO2 and air quality monitors and a full set of replacement sensors. Manuals and setup guides cover every model, current and discontinued — call 01243 558280 if you get stuck.

    DWS5100 or DWS7100?

The DWS5100 is the 5-in-1: temperature, humidity, barometric pressure, wind speed and direction, and rainfall. It suits most gardens and homes, and it is the model we sell most of. The DWS7100 adds UV index and solar light intensity, which matter if you grow under glass, garden seriously, want to be awarre of the risk of sunburn, or want a complete environmental record. Both connect over WiFi and automatically upload your weather station's data to Weather Underground, and both use the same replacement sensors. Two-screen bundles are available for the DWS5100 and DWS7100 if you want a display in more than one room.

Seeing your readings on your phone

We should be straight about this, because it is the question we are asked most often: there is no ACCUR8 app. We do not publish one, and we would rather tell you that than have you go looking for it in the App Store.

What the stations do instead is upload your readings to established online weather networks, and you use that network's own website or free app to see them. Once the console is on your WiFi, it sends its data up continuously, and from then on you have live readings on your phone wherever you are, history you can scroll back through, and a permanent record of your own micro-climate. Weather Underground is the service most owners choose, and its app & website are free to use.

In practice this works out better than a manufacturer app. These networks are far bigger than any weather station brand, they are properly maintained and updated, and your data is not stranded if a manufacturer loses interest in its software. There is no subscription and no paid tier for uploading your own station.

Alerts do not depend on any of this. The console itself holds programmable alarms for high and low temperature and humidity, indoors and out, plus rainfall and high wind, so you can set frost and storm warnings to sound in the house, whether the WiFi is up or not. If you would like to receive weather alerts for your station via email, this is available with the paid WeatherCloud Pro plan.

    Setup, manuals and firmware

Full user manuals, WiFi setup guides and firmware updates are available for every ACCUR8 station, including earlier models. The most common sticking point is WiFi pairing, which almost always comes down to joining a 2.4GHz network rather than 5GHz, and completing setup close to the console. There is a good reason these stations use 2.4GHz rather than 5GHz, and it is not that the hardware is dated: 2.4GHz travels considerably further through walls, and a weather console sends so little data that the extra bandwidth of 5GHz would buy it nothing. If you are stuck, call 01243 558280 and we will talk it through.

    Sensors and spares

Outdoor sensors take the weather year after year, and eventually they need replacing. We stock replacement for the full range of ACCUR8 sensors, plus complete replacement sensor suites for the DWS5100 and DWS7100 — and we keep them for models we no longer sell. Ordering a part for a five-year-old station should not be difficult, and with ACCUR8 it is not. Browse all ACCUR8 sensors and spares.

    Why our own brand

Distributing someone else's equipment means their decisions become your problems. Specifiying it ourselves means we choose the sensor quality, we keep spares for models we stopped selling years ago, the station arrives retail-packaged with a UK three-pin supply rather than an EU adapter, and the two-year warranty needs no registration form. When something does go wrong, there is nobody to pass you on to.
