The Bresser 7002620 El Nino takes a different approach to a conventional weather station: instead of a display on the wall, a compact Wi-Fi gateway sits indoors and publishes everything straight to the internet, so your readings live on a phone, tablet or computer wherever you are. The supplied 7-in-1 professional sensor measures outdoor temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction, rainfall, UV level and light intensity, while the gateway itself adds indoor temperature, humidity and air pressure. Data goes to ProWeatherLive with a three year membership included, plus Weather Underground, Weathercloud and one further platform.

Note: there is no display base station in this package, so a phone, tablet or computer is required to see your data, along with a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. The gateway runs from the included USB cable and mains plug; the 7-in-1 sensor needs 3x AA batteries, which are not supplied. All expansion sensors listed are optional and sold separately. This is the station to choose when you do not want a console. Everyone in the house already carries a screen, and a gateway costs less than a display station while sending the same data further, so the El Nino suits anyone who checks conditions on a phone, runs a public weather page, or wants a second sensor site feeding the same account. Setup runs through the WSLink app, which handles the Wi-Fi join, time, portal credentials, sensor calibration and firmware updates without a manual in your lap.
It is also the most expandable option in the range. Beyond the 7-in-1 sensor in the box the gateway accepts up to seven extra thermo-hygro sensors, a soil temperature and moisture meter, a pool thermometer, up to seven water leak detectors, a lightning detector, a PM2.5/10 air quality meter, a CO2 sensor and an HCHO plus VOC sensor, all sold separately. That makes it a sensible base to build on over time rather than a fixed specification, and the included three year ProWeatherLive membership covers the logging and history for it. The gateway stands or wall mounts, and a UK plug is supplied.
