The Bresser 16411 MeteoPix Touch is a 10.1-inch Full HD touchscreen that puts the whole household's diary in one place. It syncs over Wi-Fi with Google Calendar, Outlook, iCloud, Cozi, Yahoo and more, merging several calendars into a single colour-coded view by day, week, month or agenda, and the free Whale Framely app lets anyone add appointments and to-dos from their phone. Alongside the calendar sit shared task, meal and shopping lists, a star-based reward system for children, a web-based seven-day weather forecast, and a photo and video slideshow using the 32GB of internal storage.

The idea is to replace the paper calendar on the kitchen wall with something everyone can actually keep up to date. Because it syncs both ways with the calendars people already use, appointments added on a phone at work appear at home without anyone retyping them, and giving each family member their own colour makes a crowded week readable at a glance. Lists and meal plans live on the same screen, so the shopping list is where the household already looks rather than on a note someone left behind.

When nobody is looking at the diary it earns its place as a photo frame, playing back images and video clips of up to sixty seconds sent straight from a phone over Wi-Fi, with built-in speakers and automatic screen rotation between portrait and landscape. Sleep mode switches the display off at a time you choose so it is not glowing overnight. The current conditions and a full seven-day forecast are drawn from the web rather than a sensor, and the frame can either stand on a worktop using the supplied stand or hang on the wall with the supplied screws. Bresser include a five year extended warranty.
