A protective cover for temperature or temperature & humidity transmitters, shielding them from rain and sunlight while allowing air circulation for accurate readings. It is easy to assemble with the supplied mounting parts and is also suitable for cabled sensors, thanks to an opening for the sensor cable.

This practical cover protects temperature or thermal hygro-transmitters from sun and rain. Due to the permeable construction of the protective cover, air can circulate inside, enabling you to get accurate readings even in sunlight.

The protective cover is also ideal for transmitters with cable sensors, thanks to the cable opening.

The WS-01 sensor cover is compatible with a wide range of sensors, including those listed below. If your sensor is not listed, check its demsions vs the internal dimensions of the WS-01 (60mm width x 160mm height).

Cleverly constructed

The protective cover is a very good idea - it keeps rain off the sensors which will prolongue their useful lives. It is still necessary to make sure the sensors are in the shade and never get sun shining on them That way you will get accurate readings. Most remote sensors are not weather proofed and get damaged eventually by rain getting in them,.

The outdoor sensor cover is cleverly made and has a neat way of attaching the sensor to the inside. It is a good idea to protect the sensor in this way - it will last longer as a result of being protected from rain.

Good protective cover.

A small unobtrusive cover to keep the worst of the elements from off of the sensor but allows the air to circulate around it. Can be fitted to most surfaces within reason. Well pleased with it.

Performance of the outdoor protective housing of the external temperature/humidity sensor

Very well designed to avoid direct contact with rain and sunshine when installed in the right position. It gives steady contact on channel 2 with the changing data to the main indoor unit (separation about 5m.) Its signal is unaffected by local sources of potential radio interference (e.g. radio router for nearby computer and our occasional use of a microwave oven).

The main unit is very well and pleasingly designed. Apart from the Frankfurt VLF time signal (which I am happy to leave telling Central European time) it set itself up within minutes of installing the batteries. All the above results are a credit to (and what I what I expected from) German design and production. This is wonderful piece of equipment (and from the former DDR too!).

The protective cover generally meets my needs. However, the marketing states it “protects against rain and sunlight” although the instructions manual states it should be placed in the shade. Confusing and misleading?

Sensor enclosure

Decided to get the protective cover after having my previous sensor, wall mounted but fully exposed to the elements. I had spiders and small bugs inside.

This enclosure should do the trick.

Cover is just the job

Last sensor exposed to elements and started being unreliable after three+ years in all weathers. Tried to protect it but that jsut affected the readings. So far the cover is working well
