The Bresser 9-in-1 MeteoChamp HD gathers nine measurements from a single solar-powered outdoor sensor: temperature, humidity, wind speed and direction, rainfall, UV index, light intensity and air pressure. What sets it apart is how much it does with that data. The 17.7cm HD colour display switches between trend graphs, a channel overview, a data log and max/min tables rather than holding one fixed layout, and everything can be exported to a PC as CSV. Wi-Fi streams live readings to ProWeatherLive with three years of membership included, plus Weather Underground and Weathercloud, and a WBGT heat stress index gives four graded warning levels.

The MeteoChamp HD sits at the top of Bresser's conventional 868MHz range, and the step up from a seven-in-one sensor is the addition of light intensity alongside a solar panel that keeps the outdoor unit running without regular battery changes. Its forecasting is the other reason to choose it: as well as reading the barometer it pulls a 24-hour and 14-day outlook with temperature and precipitation probability from the internet, and displays local air quality from ProWeatherLive covering PM2.5, PM10, NO2, SO2, O3, CO and the overall AQI. It is also built to be added to rather than replaced, since optional CO2 sensors, extra thermo-hygro sensors and water leak detectors all pair with the same base station to cover individual rooms, a greenhouse or a cellar. The 9-in-1 sensor needs assembling and should sit within 150 metres of the house, and Bresser back it with a five year extended warranty.

Carefree summer fun – with the heat stress index

When the weather is nice, many head outdoors. But when the sun is too strong, we need to take care of our health during strenuous activities. This is where the heat stress index comes into play, calculated by the weather station. It is based on the Wet Bulb Globe Temperature, which considers the key heat factors in the environment. The four warning levels help you stay safe and healthy on hot days.

Breathe easy – with the air quality display

How clean is the air you breathe? The local AQI (Air Quality Index) shows you directly whether the air in your surroundings is clean. Also, current data on pollutant exposure from PM2.5, PM10, NO2, SO2, O3, and CO from the internet are available at the press of a button.

For data measured directly on-site, you can expand your weather station with optional CO2 sensors (not included), in addition to optional thermo-hygro sensors (not included) or water detectors (not included).
