The black point rain gauge from TFA is a modern unit, ideal for either placing in to the ground, or mounting on a pole.

The large diameter of the cup allows more accurate readings to be taken, however, the increments are small enough for small amounts of rainfall to be measured.

A modern rain gauge with a new, functional design made of weatherproof plastic for easy and exact determination of rainfall. You get very accurate readings due to the large diameter and the scale is easy to read, even with low rainfall.
The funnel-shaped lid protects against evaporation.
The practical holder can be either inserted directly into the ground or attached to a rod.
The product is entirely manufactured in Germany.

Great rain gauge

Excellent rain gauge, much easier to read the scale and very good at recording low amounts of rain.

Just the job!

We wanted a rain guage for some time but hadn't quite got round to it. I had made one from a length of pipe, a funnel and a milk bottle when I was much younger. While discussing it again we decided to go for your product after comparing what was on offer from various companies. I'm glad we did! Ease of setting up, stability and easy to read measuring scales make this an ideal purchase. My only critisism would be that the ground spike is not quite as robust as it should be when pushing it into the ground. Otherwise 10 out of 10!

TFA gauges

I have been using these gauges sinc 2012 and find them very easy to use and accurate. The only problem I have found is the cap blowing off in exceptionaally high winds. I solved this with a small piece of bluetack under the rim. I can happily recommend them.

Second of these I have bought

I bought one of these five years ago and it has served me well. I only empty it weekly, and this winter it got frozen up (which has happened before) and this time cracked, although surprisingly it doesn't leak. Easy to use, very durable, and not too intrusive in the garden. I'll keep the old one as a spare.

Easy to use

Very easy to install and effective at collecting rain. Fairly easy to read the gauge. Like many gadgets I wish the markings were in a contrasting colour, making it easier to read, instead of just embossed markings where you have to get just the right lighting to read accurately. On this gadget it is not too difficult as the embossed markings are quite large and I am reading it outdoors with good lighting. It would just be that little bit easier with a colour.
