Banjo barometers have been around since the mid 1800s, and are still the most popular design. The central dial shows the barometric pressure information, the top part is a temperature scale, and the bottom is a humidity dial. This TFA Dostmann barometer is German-made, and is of a beautiful quality.

This barometer is shipped from us in safe transportation mode, and will arrive to you unset. This is so that the needle does not move in transit, and therefore become damaged. On arrival, the barometer needs to be manually set to your local air pressure, which you can find online from various resources. This process is very simple, and can is done by simply turning a screw on the back to make the needle move to the required position. Once the barometer is set, it is ready for use.

Increasing pressure indicates good weather, with the chance of it being a little cold.

Decreasing pressure indicates that the weather is set to worsen - storms and winds are highly likely. Quick drops in pressure signify that a storm is imminent in the next several hours.

A nice traditional multi-faceted barometer with the reassurance of being manufactured by A German company with a track record of making good barometers-no chinese rubbish with batteries involved.The instructions for set up were decent,but could possibly be improved I would say.Overall,a nice barometer for not too much money,and the service from the Weather shop was tidy too-decent postage speed and v.well packed.

Perfect gift in barometer in time for winter storm !

Discrete but easily visible in barometer with thermometer and hygrometer in a modern, pale woodern casing was perfect gift for someone whose old on was beyond repair. Arriving in time for Storm Darragh (we were in red weather warnings area) and following changeable weather it has hrought a lot of joy to the recipient. Thank you

Classy, informative wall piece

My barometer arrived speedily and was well packaged. I was looking for a modern style banjo barometer and this one looks great.
