Davis Weather Link Live WiFi Connection Issues
Welcome to the WiFi Setup Guide for Your WeatherLink Live
Hello there! If you recently purchased a WeatherLink Live device and want to connect it to your WiFi, or have a new router and need to change the setup you're in the right place.
This comprehensive guide will walk you through configuring your WeatherLink software with a WiFi network. We’ve broken down the process into clear, easy-to-follow steps which are aimed at making this process as smooth as possible for you, even if you're not technically inclined.
Step 1
Make sure your internet router has a feature called "WiFi Guest internet." It should also have a password.
Once you have confirmed the above, you need to adjust some settings related to your WeatherLink app on your phone. Here are the steps:
Open your WeatherLink app.
Enter your user name.

Enter your password:

Then select the "torso" icon in the upper right corner

Click on the station you want to work with. In this case, "My Station"

Then Click on "Edit"

Then click on "Network Settings"

Then click on "Edit Internet Connection"

Make sure the LED on the WLL is flashing. If not, rest your finger on the pad above the LED. Then click "Connect"

Select WIFI or ETHERNET (cabled)
For WIFI:
Select WIFI, then NEXT

Select the network you want to work with. If your network does not show, ensure you are using a 2.4gHz WiFi network.
Then hit "Next"

You will then need to enter the password your your WIFI Network

Next, the station will attempt to connect to the network

Once it sees the internet, it will try to connect to the Davis servers

Then you should get a Installed message

For Ethernet:
Select "Ethernet"

Then plug in the cable. You should see the LEDs next to the plug light up.
Click "Next"

Next, the station will attempt to connect to the network

Once the unit sees the internet, it will try to connect to the Davis servers

Then you should get an Installed message.

Failed:
If it fails, try again, and if it still fails, reach out to us with the error details.

Advanced:
There may be times you want to set up the device to use a specific IP address. You would use the Advance Setup from the "Select Internet Connection" screen. Slide the "Advanced Setup" to the right.

Then select the IP, Gateway, Subnet and DNS. It is recommended that you have 1 of the DNS point to Google's DNS 8.8.8.8. If you need assistance in this section, we can only give some very general or basic configuration. You may need to reach out to your IT, or your ISP provider.
